Web resources to protect internet safety and promote cyber security

What is Internet Safety?

According to Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA)  internet safety refers to:

(a) protecting minors from inappropriate matter on the Internet;
(b) providing for the safety and security of minors when using electronic mail, chat rooms and other forms of direct electronic communications;
(c) protecting against unauthorized access, including so-called “hacking,” and other unlawful activities by minors online;
(d) protecting against unauthorized disclosure, use, and dissemination of personal information regarding minors; and
(e) providing for measures restricting minors’ access to materials harmful to them.
 One way to provide for internet safety is to implement measures for cyber security.
What is cyber security?

Cyber security is the body of technologies, processes and practices designed to protect networks, computers, programs and data at schools, work,  home and on one’s personal mobile devices from attack, damage or unauthorized access.
